Warnings Or Dangers: It Can be COLD in Winter!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Toronto - Steam Rising from Lake Ontario

  • I was back in town in January, 2004 for an in-and-out one day meeting. Eastern Canada was in the middle of its first serious cold snap of the winter and Toronto was no exception. The photo, taken from inside our meeting room at the Weston Harbourcastle hotel, shows a couple of boats tied up and steam rising from the harbour and, more distantly, the heavy fog above Lake Ontario as the 'warm' water resists the effects of the -21 C temperatures. By the end of a cold winter, Lake Ontario can be entirely frozen.

I love the wind mill. I too think they are majestic - and mesmerising!

Hi Glenn, nice page on Toronto, one of my favourite cities. Next time you should try "Ruth's Chris" steakhouse, I found it to be better than Barberian's (I have been to both twice). Bye, Ricardo

It's a shame you've not been blessed with more comfortable weather conditions on your visits here, but you've produced some excellent tips nevertheless! And what a fantastic swimming pool :)

Well, I really loved your restaurant tips and we seem to enjoy those tomato and onion salads! An interesting page, especially the description of the ballpark and game.
