"Not a Bad Little City!!" Nashville by Bwana_Brown

Nashville Travel Guide: 656 reviews and 1,393 photos

I was back in Nashville for 3-days in March, 2004 to attend a series of meetings (see my Tennessee Page for my experiences during a Sept., 2002 visit). Once again, I found this city to be very user-friendly! With downtown hotel accommodations, it is only a matter of minutes and a block or two before you are in the entertainment area! However, with three full-days of meetings, there was not much of a chance to look around on this particular trip. Still, with sunshine and the weather in the mid-70's (23 C), who could really complain? I still say that these are two impressive looking buildings - this view was taken from the 26th floor of the Renaissance Hotel where the meetings were being held. The reddish building to the bottom right is the home of the original 'Grand Old Opry', before it moved out of town to the Opryland complex!

Will remember not to prowl around Nashville, Glenn, though I would like to get there someday. It missed the cut on the US trip of 2008. I notice a theme on the Brown pages sans Sue: always a pub involved! ;)

Glenn, you were so lucky to have sampled a good batch of Shepard's Pie. Along with the old fashioned Boiled Dinner, I miss this simple, but excellent, dish.

Your insights about Nashville are excellent. I am very fond of the music from Nashville and the history that abounds.

Yes, the music on cds often is not the same as experienced live. Looks like the city has many good and interesting bars to explore. But cruising? Isn't that what boats do?

Too bad VT cannot handle music illustrations besides photos! For Nashville that would have been perfect!

Nashville / Tennessee sounds like great country and western music.... have to admit, I thought it is a small place without sky-scapers...
