Nightlife Spot: Mopani Camp

While we were sitting in the bar area of Mopani, enjoying a bottle of South African wine as we watched the sun go down, we struck up a conversation with five white South African guys from Jo'burg who were on a weekend getaway. They asked us to join them later in their accommodations for a little party, so we agreed. When we arrived at about 9 PM there was a great chorous of greetings as the party was already in full swing with beer and wine flowing copiously! The 'Big 5', as they called themselves, had a great BBQ (braii) underway and I was soon treated to a delicious 'boervos' sausage, it had been a long time since I had tasted one of those spicey delights! Over the course of the evening, we had great talks back and forth about many issues, including the latest political developments in South Africa. It was close to 2 AM before we managed to find our way back to our humble abode! This night, meeting and talking to these average guys, was one of the highlights of our entire trip!
