Luxor it was part of the ancient Thebes, "The Hundred-Gated City".
The most important sights are the Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, the Colossi of Memnon and the tombs of the Valleys of the Kings and Queens.
The city is known for "the greatest open-air museum". I visited the hold area in just one day... may be not enough, although we wake up at 5 AM and we started our tour at 6 AM until 4:30 PM. Our guide wanted to be the first person everywhere... the guide was the best guide we could get, seriously. |
