I spent the week before Christmas in Chicago in 2001. It was my first visit to Chicago. Although it was very cold, naturally, it was really a great opportunity to see Chicago all dressed up for the Christmas Holidays. Of course I had to check out the Christmas display at Marshall Fields, dine at some great restaurants and even take some time for a little theater. Christmas in Chicago was a wonderful experience.

You haven't been to Chicago in almost 10 years and you haven't signed up for the big Chicago event next month?
Marshall Field's - sadly not for long
I am also in favor of John Hancock than Sears Towers with the personal feelings. Even Chicago architecture foundation is located at John Hancock.
You are right, there are so many unexpected surprises in Chicago!
I'm glad you enjoyed Chicago so much - even in the Winter. Nice Pages!
Water Tower was the only building still standing after the Great Fire. Cheers.
Great Chicago tips. Wish you could see Wrigley Field in the summer. Good restaurants...if you return, try the Greek places in Greek Town...fabulous. Also, Wildfire is another great place to eat. Thanks for the kind words about Chicago.
It's been cold every time I've gone to Chicago. Have you every eaten at the top of the Hancock building? Great view and only costs a bit more than the observation floor one level higher.
marshal fields - yes, it rules. my family have always enjoyed being there for hours. good info on pizzeria uno and due.john hancock is easier n beautiful to photograph too.
I'm proud to say I've been to a ballgame at Wrigley and dined at Pizzeria Uno (my first meal in the US!). You're right about Hancock vs Sears - IMHO. BTW, it's Harrods in London!
