I never tire of Atlanta. It is an ever changing city. Each visit I find another side to Atlanta.

I lived in Atlanta for two years while I was in college back in the late 1970's. I went back to visit Atlanta in 1999 after the Olympics and was amazed at how much had changed and how the city had been improved.

Pictured here is one of Atlanta's landmarks, The Westin Peachtree Plaza. The view from the observation deck on the top floor is beautiful. I watched the tower being built while I lived in Atlanta back in the 1970's. At that time, when it was completed, it really stood out in the skyline. Today it is surrounded by similiar sized buildings and blends in with the skyline. I finally had the opportunity to stay at this hotel in 1999. The rooms are odd shaped due to the circular design of the building. But they are interesting. The entire outside wall of the rooms are glass windows. You get a clear view of the city from every room. And if you go to the rooftop restaurant and observation area you get a true birds eye view of the city.

I was back in Atlanta again in 2001 with my youngest daughter who was visiting Emory University as part of her college search. She too fell in the love with the city much the same as I did almost 30 years before. She was accepted at the college and moved to Atlanta in 2001. This of course gave me more opportunities to visit this exciting city.

To bring this story full circle, my daughter did attend Emory University and graduated in May 2006. She decided to remain in the Atlanta area after graduation which means I will be returning to the great city on a frequent basis. So watch this page for updates!

Oh wow, they have the same statue at the Geneva headquarters of the World Health Organisation. It is moving, especially when you remember a lot of blindness in Africa is avoidable.

Cool page of Atlanta. As a Coca-cola fan, Coke's World will be a must visit if I get to Atlanta. Carter Center and Flat Iron Building too.
