They guys in hats headed to Europe once more in 2004. This year we were planning on seeing Vienna, Bratislava, and Prague. We left Dullas International Airport in Washington DC on April 26 for ten days in Eastern Euorpe. The bags were packed and we were ready for our flight. Our first destination was Milan where we changed planes and were headed for Vienna. Upon our arrival in Vienna my luggage was the very first piece to arrive in the luggage claim area. However the other guy in the hat had a big disappointment. His luggage never arrived.
We had planned three days to explore the streets and museums of Vienna. Instead we ended up doing lots of shopping for clothes and personal items that never arrived due to the lost luggage. We saw many stores in Vienna but not a lot of the actual city.
We left three days later with a kind of disappointment. What we were able to see of Vienna did not overly impress us. It was a beautiful city. But we did not have the experience we had expected and came away somewhat let down.
Pictured here is the Neues Rathaus or the New Town Hall. |

| | The James Bond Connection If you have followed any of the guys in hats pages you will know that I am a BIG James Bond fan. One of my favorite things to do when I travel is to find James Bond film sights. My Switzerland pages are full of James Bonds sights.
Vienna has a James Bond connection. The film The Living Daylights with Timothy Dalton as James Bond was partially filmed in Vienna. The amusement park at Prater was as setting of one of the major scenes in the movie. Although very small and compact the park looked huge in the movie. But it was great fun to ride the ferris wheel and see the mini roller coaster Bond rode while still dressed in a tuxedo. |

Interesting Bond tip!! I do hope you return to Vienna and give her a second chance...the lost luggage and prickly shop assistant obviously put the damper on things. Do try to return during Advent! |
