Edinburgh - Castles, Ghosts, and Lots of Fun

Visiting Edinburgh with Friends

January is not the best time to visit Scotland. Everyone told me this. When I said I was going to Scotland everyone told me it will be too cold, what will you do in the winter, wait until spring or summer. After spending a week in the Edinburgh area in the month of January I have to disagree with what everyone said. It was cold, but not bone chilling cold. It did rain a little, but I understand it rains all year long in Scotland. The streets were busy with tourists, so I did not feel out of place, although is was not crowded by any strectch of the imagination. But the best part is that I got to spend time with VT friends in Scotland. So regardless of the temperature or the amount of moisture in the air, I was greeted with warmth and friendship and had one of the best vacations imaginable.

Can we call it a meeting?

Just what is a VT meeting? Can you call it a VT meeting if you are in someone's living room? Can you call it a VT meeting if you not out in a pub or restaurant? Well we had a VT banner and everyone was a VT member. So one night in Roslyn at Suet's house we had a VT meeting. Iaint, Hikerpark, Gillybob, Suet, and myself had some wonderful fun. We sang, we laughed, we drank a little (well maybe more than a little), we prepared food, and we just enjoyed the company of friends old and new. Thanks Sue for your hospitality.
