What is that guy in the hat doing in Helsingborg? Thats a good question. I ended up in Helsingborg like many other tourists. I went to Helsingor in Denmark to see Hamlet's Castle. Less than 20 minutes across the Oresund Sound in Sweden lies the town of Helsingborg. So its a two city for one trip experience. I was only in Helsingborg for a short time. So I do not have any restaurant tips, any accomodations tips, or off the beaten path tips to offer.
As you can tell by the picture the temperatures were not warm the day I went to Helsingborg although it was considered an early spring day. Take a few minutes and walk with me through the city square and explore a small part of Helsingborg.
Helsingborg is more than 900 years old. May 21, 1085 is considered it official birthdate. The ferry boats here now are receiving stiff competition from the newly constructed Oresund Bridge that connects Denmark and Sweden. For the future there is a plan to build an underwater railroad tunnel between Helsingor and Helsingborg. |

JetlagCity Wed Jun 1, 2005 22:22 UTC Popping over to Sweden on a daytrip sounds great : ) There's a lot to be said for visiting places in the off-season. | evaanna Mon May 16, 2005 18:20 UTC Interesting photos of this quiet Swedish town. I love the sculptures that you can find in many Swedish and Norwegian little towns, too. |
