Florence is a beautiful city full of art, history and memories. We spent three days in Florence exploring the musueums, gardens and churches. There was much to see and I have many thoughts to share. |
| David meets the two guys in hats. |
| | There are those two guys in hats again! Yes the guys in hats are everywhere. Here we are in Piazza Michaelanglo standing in front of the bronze replica of Michaelanglo's David. There are several copies of David in Florence. You are not allowed to take pictures of the original. I tried but I was warned I would be asked to leave the museum if I tried again. This one in Piazza Michaelanglo is on a hillside outside of the city. From the Piazza you can see the entire city of Florence. The first picture on this page was taken from the Piazza. |
Where are those two guys in hats now? We are on the upper level porch of the Vecchio Palace. The view from up here was beautiful. I was fascinated with the Vecchio Palace both for its historical importance and also for the fact that the movie Hannibal was filmed here. This is the building where Hannibal Lector kills the Italian policeman and hangs him outside the window.
The palace itself is full of sculptures and art work. The ceilings are covered in paintings. Every room leads you into a new experience. | | |
