Alicante!

by s_odyssey - last update: Jul 6, 2003

The first glimpse I caught of Alicante from above was surprising, it looked very dry, mostly brown earth and I couldn't find the mediterranean. I was relieved, the sea was not only there, but it was beautiful as well as animated. The schedule was simple, at about 4 o'clock we made it to the beach, a nap if we were lucky, once we were all dressed up and showered, it was time for dinner and that went on until about 10. The night truly began for us after our first stop up at the pub, after a few pints and reading the daily papers. Alicante is full of lil night clubs both in the old city and the port that should get everyone's heart pumping! After my first 3 weeks I could finally understand the jokes and had stoped thinking in french! It was thanx to the people all around who took an interest in helping and those cue cards at some friends' flat with the verb tenses .
"Proper Frisbee" San Juan, Spain 1998.
Known as the perfect place for para-sailing San Juan, just outside Alicante is a good opt for tranquility. There is less of a concentration of people b/s the beach is much bigger. From rugby competitions, to sponsored volley-ball tournaments, its a good beach to get to either by public transportation or by car. Here are my two favorites showing off their frisbee skills. There are also many restaurants along the beach with reasonable menus.
