Bricin bridge the middle & lower lakes
Take a walk or rent a bike to travel around Muckross & Dinis. You'll go over bricin bridge where the lower and middle lake join up and on to the meeting of the waters where the upper lake meets the middle lake at Dinis cottage. You can see bricin bridge, the middle and lower lakes in this photo. If you are feeling adventurous you can take a boat trip from Ross castle up through the 3 lakes to brandon cottage, a really stunning day out!
Address: Killarney National Park
Directions: 4km out of Killarney on the road to Kenmare (via Molls Gap).
A beautiful waterfall about 4km outside Killarney, this waterfall is easily accesable as it is only 200m off the roadside.

Dinis cottage at the meeting of the waters.
Beautiful cottage where the upper and middle lake meet.

Directions: 2km after Torc waterfall, a 2 km walk along the road to the cottage.
Middle lake.
There are several small beaches along the middle lake, most popular is Dundag. Walk from Muckross house to Torc waterfall through the national park for about 1km. The picture below is taken from the pier at Dinis in mid November, swimming not advisable at that time of year!!!

Directions: 3km outside Killarney on the road to Kenmare via Molls gap.
Lower lake Killarney from top of Carrantouhill!
Standing at 1034M (3414 Ft) Carrantouhill is Irelands highest mountain. There is a stunnig view of the surrounding landscape, you can see for miles & miles. It's about a 4 hour hike, be prepared for adverse weather conditions. Unfortunately, when I took the picture below the clouds began to move in. It gets very dangerous if you are not careful!
Address: Kilgobnait.
Directions: When leaving Killarney on the road to Kilorglin, turn left at Fossa towards Glencar. Follow this road for about 12 Km. The turn off to Carrantouhill is signposted.
The Gap of Dunloe from Tomies rock
The gap of Dunloe is well worth a visit. The road runs from Kate Kearneys cottage through to the black valley. On of the trips available includes a bus from the town to Kates, followed by jaunting cart through the gap of Dunloe to Lord Brandons cottage followed by a boat trip through all the lakes back to Ross castle in Killarney. A lot of people walk up the gap, especially at the weekend. A nice pint of Guiness is always waiting for you in Kates!
Address: Beaufort, Killarney
Directions: Left at Fossa, on the N71, Killarney to Kilorglin.
Ross Castle
Ross Castle sits on the shore of the lower lake in Killarney. It's a great place to get a boat trip or rent a fishing boat and row away at your ease. There are some islands which can be visited, such as Inisfalen

Ladies View
This is a famous viewing point on the road to Kenmare/Sneem. You can see the run of the upper lake as it meanders down through the meeting of the waters to Dinis cottage.
Muckross House & gardens is a "must see" when visiting Killarney. The house itself has many beautiful paintings and antiques, there are guided tours of the house available. The gardens are expertly maintained year round, my favourite time is in May when the rhododendrons are in full bloom. There is a good restaurant there if you feel hungry! Boat trips can be organised and there is also a small beach "Dundag" where you can chill out or even take a swim.
