From Blowing Rock to Asheville

We love traveling abroad, but we also enjoy short expeditions in our own country. Our weekend trips help create some excitement in our family and break up the all-too-long periods between our major vacations.

Far too often we look for natural beauty and adventure in foreign lands... not realizing what may be just down the highway a few hours from home.

That's what we found in April 2000 when we made a weekend trip to the mountains of North Carolina. We stayed for two nights in the village of Blowing Rock, then took the spectacular Blue Ridge Parkway to Asheville. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone-- American or visitors from other countries. You will see some inspiring scenery, at any time of the year.
