The Belgian (and European) capital was our first stop on the agenda. It is situated in the French-speaking part of Belgium, but everybody can speak English (should French be a problem...) A lot of travellers refer to Brussels as the boring capital, but I didn't find it that way. Granted, places like Paris and Rome have many more tourist attractions, but like I've mentioned on one of my other pages, one can only stare at old walls, gargoyles and stained glass for so long. After being to a few European cities, all cathedrals etc. start to look alike. If anything, Brussels seem to have a lack of old historic buildings. Therefore giving one more time to do other things like sample some of the local nightlife, cuisine and of course, my favourite, beers. |
