Having had friends live there, it was an obvious destination for me - free accommodation! I've been there both in summer and winter, and can't really say when is the best time to go... In summer you've got the nice warm weather when one can sit outside and soak up some rays whilst sipping on something, or winter when ski resorts such as Chamrousse and Alp du Huez are easily reachable with regular bus services. We went to nearby Chamonix (only about an hour away by car) during a summer visit. Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe can be found here. Other places of interest within the area include Annecy. |
