    Getting TO/AROUND: If you're in Nassau for the day or week and don't have a rental car but want to go to the Atlantis Hotel Resort, you need to catch the "water taxi. These are passenger boats leaving Prince George Wharf and depositing you NEAR but NOT RIGHT AT the Atlantis! Purchase your roundtrip ticket at Festival Place information booth or nearby. When we were there last, tickets ran about $6 round trip. You must have a ticket to board.

    There are usually policeman checking each water taxi to make sure that the boat is not overloaded as there is a maximum passenger limit which must be adhered to. Even though you may think this is an inconvenience, enforcing passenger limit requirement might save your life.

    Between Prince George Wharf and the pier near Atlantis, usually a very informative "guide" will tell you all about what you are seeing on the way to Paradise Island. The "guide" is not necessarily an employee of the water taxi, but makes his living from the tips he receives from passengers on board. If you think the guy has done a good job, don't be a cheapskate like a lot of people. They go over to the Atlantis and drop a bundle in the casino and the shops, but can't give this guy a measley dollar for doing an honest job!

    Besure to check the time for the last returning water taxi back from Paradise Island. I believe they leave every half hour during operating hours. If you miss the water taxi, most likely you will have to take a land taxi for sure!

     As you know, I also visited the Bahamas, but only the less interesting Grand Bahama island. Nassau seems to be a more lively area according to your description. Thanks for your visit on my Copenhagen. Best. L.

     I do love lighthouses & Hog Island looked splendid with its turquoise sea! I didn't know Hard Rock Cafe had pin badges must look out for them in future!
