I had a brilliant time in Israel, I was there for nearly a year, so much to see and do for such a small place. I found it quite mind blowing when I went to places like the Sea of Galilee & Jerusalem etc and that I was actually there, after all the Bible stories you learn as a child.

As well as travelling around Israel I was also a volunteer on Kibbutz Ayelet Hashahar in the upper Galilee also had a short (very!) spell as an au pair near Netanya

I felt so then and I still feel that the month I spent at AS in July 1987 was the best vacation of my life. Do you remember Maxa? She used to call me a stupid monkey in German.

Wow! This took me right back to 1987 and my stay in the big rowdy volunteer house! Amazed that it is still going. It is wonderful to see so many young people from all over the world live together as we did nearly 20 years ago. .

I've never been to Israel, but it is a place that everyone should visit because of the history, culture and importance in today's time...you showed it in a wonderful light!

I too felt the same about visiting the places in Israel that I had read about in the Bible. Quite moving. I am surprised that I haven't come across this page before Nicola - you had quite some experience on the Kibbutz. :-)
