Until an airport was built east of Paphos in 1984, few people had heard of the small fishing & agricultural town of Paphos.
Sadly today the hotels sprawl along the seafront & the whole place is pretty much set for the tourists. We visited in winter time when most shops & restaurants were closed, an ideal trime to visit if your want the historical sights to yourself as we did. |
| | Paphos Ruins There are many ruins to wander around and explore in Paphos, Here in the right of the photo is St Pauls Pillar, Cyprus was one of the many place Paul visited in his quest to convert people to Christianity. |
Paphos Pelican This was the Paphos Pelican. He lived near the harbour for many years, I believe he has sadly now gone to Pelican Heaven.
See my main Cyprus Page for more details of things to see & do outside Paphos | | |
