I thought it seemed a very relaxed city especially for a capital, but then it was a Sunday.
With Freya being in a grouchy mood, Derek & I in need of a rest day as we were about 4 weeks in to our 5 month trip, we just wandered round the pedestrian streets, enjoyed the ambience of a Sunday city & gave site seeing a miss.

Hi Nicola, Portugal was one of my favorite European countries, but it sounds like gypsys were now problematic-A shame it had negative influences. I fortunately didn't experience that. Doug
Funny story about the maraton :) I liked Lisboa a lot, the little squares, the Fado, it was all so nice. Did you get on the old tram? The funiclar is fun, pity so much is covered with uggly grafiti
one of my favourite cities - beacuase of their sea explorers ? ;-)))
Here you didn't got it... Lisbon streets are very quiet on sundays because everyone is inside shopping centers... in fact that is good for the ones that like to walk through the city... :)
Lisbon is lovely ! I love the colours & the ambience that you captured...:) Regards.
A great little page on your day Off in Lisbon! No, it wasn't just because it was Sunday - we also found Lisbon to be a very relaxed city during our 4 days there. My wife's brother had advised us to spend some time there and we were very glad that we did!
a lovely page and excellent pics !
Well done Nicola, I think you did a good choice staying in Sao Pedro de Muel . :-)
