Monaco is an old Principality in the south of France, It is tiny, the country covers only 1 square mile. The Principality has been in the hands of the Grimaldi family since the mid 1300s.

Have to say Monaco did not do a lot for me, far to much concrete in this 1 square mile. I did enjoy the old part of the city set upon the huge rock cliff.

An interesting and informative page, Nicola ... I knew all about lives and exploits of the royalty, nothing about the place. I would try the Ascensuers Publics :)

I spent few hours in Monaco when returning from Barcelona by bus. I was most impressed by toilets in Casino - all in carpets!:)))

My mother and I spent a very treacherous trip driving along the Grand Corniche in 1972, so I always cringe thinking about Princess Grace. I plan to visit Monaco with my own little girl, but I wish I could just land in Monte Carlo by helicopter!

I recently visited Monaco as a daytrip from Italy. Unfortunately my photos are greyish - inspite of being summer it was a cloudy day. Nice page Nicola.
