What to buy: As mentioned in the introduction, Burano is famous for its lace making industry, its all very pretty, and nice to buy (if thats your thing).

As with the Masks make sure you are buying genuine Burano Lace, as there are reported to be plenty of Lace sellers passing off much cheaper imported Chinese lace as Burano Lace.

Masks

What to buy: Masks are very popular in venice, especially around the time of the Venice Carnival.

We knew we were going to be in Venice for the Carnival and wanted to buy masks.We had been browsing around the shops & stalls in Venice itself & not seen quite what we wanted, but on Burano, there is a brilliant little mask shop.
The owners make them there in the shop, & they were lovely. Derek & I were very indecisive in the shop itself & the owners played with freya the whole time we were in there (45minutes!!) It was worth buying them just to have a Freya Break !(~_~)

What to pay: You can pay anything from 5 euros to 500 euros for masks. Just make sure they are the real mcoy, not imported.
