Ardeche Gorge

The Rhone Valley runs along side the west of the Alps and provides beautiful alpine foothills, the largest city in the area is the university city of Lyon, the second largest urban area in France. You can not visit the Rhone region without stepping in to the wonderful Ardech Gorge & visit at the right time of year for experience the sight & smell of the lavender fields & vineyards.

Wonderful page!I think it's one of my soon to be visited destinations.Freya is sooooooo CUTE on that ponny,but also on the crocodile!:-)I adore lavande, and the huge lavender fields are my big wish to see...I only got to see some bushes at the Adriatic...

Nicola, Enjoyed these lovely pages on Rhone-Alpes, especially the villages of Suze La Rousse and La Fornet. The scenery is magnificent. Information on Blood Wagon was fascinating. Lavender fields would, indeed, be spectacular.

Great tips Nicola! This is the part of France that I most want to visit - one of these days. I had a laugh at Freya taming that wild Croc, not much of a job after subduing the Pony! Yeow, the Ardeche Gorge view gave me 'vertigo'!!

Nicola, what a lovely page! Looks like the weather was a little cold & snowy! Can't believe of all places, there is a crocodile farm. Glad they stopped using them for purses!
