"Awe-inspiring Nebataean City" Petra by freya_heaven
Petra Travel Guide: 948 reviews and 2,356 photos
We were lucky enough to have 2 days in Petra.
Our second day in Petra, it seemed we were the only people in there, for a while we probably were, as we were the first people in at 6am, we had the magical place to ourselves.
Petra, which means "rock" in Greek, is really worth travelling an awfully long distance to visit.
If you can try not to visit with a tour group, you can go in quiet times, so you can really explore what Petra has to offer and soak up its amazing atmosphere.

Wonderful (love the fridge story) - one of the places I've always wanted to visit.
Beautiful! ... almost unreal. I am jealous, Nicola.
Very informative...and fantastic photographs...really enjoyed these pages!
Great pictures, I can't believe how large the rock formations are.
An absolutely amazing place - one I would love to see. Funny story about the electric rock.
Unique and fascinating a must see for me. Haha, I like that electric rock.
Nice page and I pray I will be there some day. Have a good satr of the week! Reza
Hi Nicola, thank you for looking at my Dalyan page, your right Petra does look very similiar, and just as beautiful.
What a remarkable place Petra is. Loved the story about the "hot" refrigerated cola LOL! Mini Me was also a "riot". So much history, tombs, temples..just fascinating. You did such a wonderful job, Nicola. Thanks for the journey.
