This impresive and restored Roman Theater is believed to have been built in the 2nd century AD during the time of Antonious Pius and seated up to 6000 people.

This is the other side of the Roman Theatre ( rather similar to the first (~_~)! )
Productions are still occasionally put on here, we visited early evening and as you can see local Ammanians go there to meet and catch the last of the days sun

Ammans Citadel stands on one of Ammans seven hills Jebel al-Qala'a.
Unfortunately much of the citadel has long gone, but there are still plently of Ruins for you to wander around in where you can see evidence of Islamic, Byzantine and of course Roman construction.
The Citadel is also a great viewing point to get you barings in Amman and over the Roman Theatre

The best way to get to know a place is just wandering around, and usually in my case getting lost!
