Madaba | St Georges Church, Madaba |
Madaba is a friendly little town about 30km south of the capital Amman.
Madaba was mentioned in the Bible, then called Medeba and was one of the towns divided by the 12 tribes of Israel..................So lots of History!

There are so many wonderful mosaics in Madaba, at many different sites -including some in houses that are still lived in. Mt Nebo's a lovely peaceful spot, nice photos. leyle. | matcrazy1 Mon Oct 3, 2005 20:38 UTC

Those are amazing mosaics you saw both in Madaba and on the mountaintop! It is wonderful the way that at least some parts of these old relics have been saved. It must have been fantastic to be perched way up there above the valley! |
