Jerusalem is the most atmospheric and emotional place I have ever been to. There seems to almost be an electrical charge running through there, especially the old city.
Although I am an Atheist now I was brought up Christian & went to religious schools. So Jerusalem had no Pilgrimage significance for me but it was still incredible to be in the place of all the Bible stories I had learnt as a child, as was the case all over the areas in Israel I visited.
There are so many places to see both in and around Jerusalem. From my experience foreign visitors to Jerusalem seem to fall mainly in to 2 catagories, backpackers & older people who have usually gone there for religious reasons. The city accommodates the needs for both very well.
- Pros:Wonderfully atmospheric, Historical
- Cons:Too Busy Especially in the Old City,
