The country of Devon (Devonshire) is in the south west of Britain. You have to drive though Devon to reach Cornwall. I feel very lucky to live in such a beautiful county of England, there are many beautiful contrasting areas to explore here.

Dartmouth & Kingswear

From the empty wilderness of Dartmoor with its beautiful ancient villages such as Widdicombe, to the "Kiss me Quick" seaside town of Paignton to beautiful woodland & coastal areas to great surfing of Woolacombe to ancient market towns like Tavistock to Historical and working ports of Brixham, Plymouth & Dartmouth. I could go on..................... But I think you get the picture!

I have been in Devon a couple of time but never really visited ! Thank you to show all what I have missed. However, I am not much excited about parachute jumping !

Thanks for a delightful tour of Devon, Nicola. Pebbly beaches, travelling markets, steam engines, para jumping ... sounds like a fun trip to do. Not forgeting the Christie home ... been a huge fan of Poirot :)
