"Gettysburg" a Gettysburg Travel Page by Skibbe

I have visited Gettysburg twice--once in 1979 when I was 11 and again 27 very quickly passing years later. I don't remember a lot about the first trip other than the big board with the lights showing where everything happened. The visitor center was packed when I went there in 2006 but it wasn't so bad on the battlefield. I bought the two hour CD and drove around the park. Especially effective was the site of Pickett's Charge. So many lives were lost here in such a senseless war and that definitely hit me harder on the second trip.
