Kind of a Dutch national museum with a lot of Rembrandt, including "The Night Watch." Not as big as it looks as I understand there is some renovation but still worth the time.

Collection of lots of Van Gogh works and those of similar painters in a very modern musuem. Doesn't have some of the more famous Van Gogh paintings, like "Starry Night", but still plenty to see.

I had a special interest in this since I was in the play in high school (like millions of others). It was heavy in tourists but I still found it moving and informative. All the diaries she wrote in are there and they seem to have done a good job recreating the rooms as they were. They also do a good job raising questions of tolerance and how things like the Holocaust could happen.

Dutch town hall built in 1662 a the height of Amsterdam's wealth. Great place to get a feel for Dutch history. The main hall is very impressive and a lot of art in all the rooms off the hall. I definitely recommend getting the audio guide for the details you will need.
