Udaipur is built around four serene blue lakes and is a really nice break when you've been rushing around noisy, bustling India. The streets are narrow and mazelike and you get a better walking around experience here than in other parts of India that I saw. It is also known as the city where the James Bond movie "Octopussy" was partly filmed and several restaurants show it every night.
There are sights here and many more that can be reached by a short day trip. Its a good launching point for seeing Rajasthan. |
