It is out of the city center and away from the popular shopping areas. However, it it the only hotel along the coast. No beaches, no swimming, except in the swimming pool. It has a view of the clock tower and the view across the Straits of Johor - Singapore. The causeway to Singapore is under 10 minutes away by car. You can be in Singapore within 15 minutes depending on traffic condition.
Unique Qualities: I have never stay there before, but I suppose it will be very comfortable with warm and friendly Malaysian service. The hotel is very well maintained and I go there for some drinks on a Friday night or Saturday night with my friends to catch up with one another. There's a very cosy lobby lounge where you get live soothing piano, violin, sometimes flute music. Simply a great atmosphere for catching up with friends. They are not very popular for their food though.

It is near the customs and beside a shopping mall called Kotaraya. It is very near to many government offices and buildings. The famous old Chinese temple believed to be very sacred is around there too.

It is a rather old hotel beside Holiday Plaza (good shopping). The interior of the rooms are not too bad.

A hotel further down from Holiday Inn, along a busy road which links to the customs to Singapore. Several shopping malls such as Pelangi mall, Holiday Plaza, etc are easily accessible and nearby. If you do not drive, take a taxi.

There are many small, budget accommodation near the Johor central police station, near Jalan Wong Ah Fook. Majority of them have air condition. They call themselves "hotel". I have not seen any websites for these small hotels. I think you can just walk in and ask for a room and the price.

If you are bring meat products into Singapore, check with the custom first. If I am not wrong, all meat product cannot enter Singapore. |
