Technically i've been to Indonesia. We crossed the border at the visa-free bordercrossing between Tubedu in Malaysia and Entikong in Indonesian Kalimantan.
After parking the car on the Malaysian site of the border we walked into Indonesia. No need to show a passport or whatever.
Indonesia is a lot cheaper compared to Malaysia so you'll be able to buy lots of cheap stuff. There is no need to change your money to Ruphias, they will accept Malaysian Ringits.
On the way back i tried to get my passport chopped, but they wouldn't do that. First i needed to leave Malaysia in the right manner (get passport chopped etc) then enter Indonesia (again waiting in the queue) and the same on the way back. All a bit to troublesome for just a one hour visit. |
