My hometown is Munich, which is the capital of Bavaria.

If it is true that evrybody wears Lederhosn, drinking beer and dancing Schuhplattler??
Yes of course!!! Never visited the Oktoberfest???

Seriously: Munich is much more than most people expect Bavaria or Germany to be.
Even it seems to be a quite small city, more than 1 million people are living here.

Many companys, working with modern thechnologies and media, settled down in and around Munich in the last few years. So the workingsituation seems to be realy good, but on the other hand the prices for living rose up quickly.

In Munich we have got two soccerclubs playing in the first division (Bundesliga). The most famous is the FC Bayern München (winner of the Champinonsleague 2001 and clubworldcup) but my favorit is TSV 1860, called die Löwen (Lions). They do not winn so often but you can´t winn all the time.

In the year 2006 the opener of the worldcup will be in Munich. Therefore there will be built a new Stadium. Looks very spacy.....

What makes Munich a magnificent place to life are the surrounding areas and the summer.
It´s easy to go by bike to the lakes nearby or go hiking or skiing in the mountains.
Even the Beergardens in Munich are great. There is no better way to spend a summerdays evening than to sit under the trees in one of the beergardens an drink a cold beer.....
