Before I came here in 2002 for an exchange term I was told that Manchester is just another awefull big industrial city which has nothing to offer.
In fact Manchester is a big, noise, dirty city with all the problems (unemployment, crime, etc.), but it has plenty of sights to offer - you just have to seek them: it's a wonderfull blend of medival, Victorian and modern architecture. You'll find a lot remains of the Industrial Revolution (canals, warehouses, docks) and interesting museums.
But what I liked most about MCR is the multicultural socienty.
I'am still in love with Manchester, that's why I came back in 2007 for a week - which was of course too short. |
