The Alhambra

Travelling to Granada was one of the few places in Spain that I absolutely had to see during this trip to Europe. I was not going to go to Spain, see some of the larger cities like Madrid and Barcelona, and then leave without seeing the famed Moorish Palace La Alhambra!

This Palace has some of the most breathtaking architecture I have ever seen. Engraved into each part of the buildings are arabic writings, and other pictoral images.

The courtyards are magnificent with waterways, fountains, and pools amongst the backdrop of flowers and brilliant architecture.

Any traveller to Spain must take time to visit this Andalucien city in the south of Spain. The city may not be large, but it is a breathtaking treasure, glimpsing the Alhambra and the town's white-washed houses among the mountains.

A must-see for any traveller, and one of the top 100 places every person should see in his or her lifetime.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Alhambra, weather, best Sangria in Spain, great walking city.
  • Cons:Can't think of any but that time is too short for any visit.
  • In a nutshell:A gem of a city with the crown being La Alhambra!

The pics of Alhambra reminds me of High School. I graduated from Alhambra H.S., in Alhambra, California! And Granada Park was nearby.

It seems that one should make this place one of the top 10 because of the sangria :) Oh, that the palace is indeed a gem of unsurpassed loveliness is a nice bonus :)
