"Beautiful Garmisch-Partenkirchen" Garmisch-Partenkirchen by Henkster

Colorful "GAP"

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is one of my favorite towns in Oberbayern (Upper Bavaria), right underneath the "Zugspitze", which is Germany's highest mountain.
Not just for skiing but also to enjoy the romantic Bavarian atmosphere in the beautiful center of town.
Many houses are painted in the Bavarian style and create a colorful ambience.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Bavarian houses, mountains, atmosphere, tons of snow in winter, skiing
  • Cons:mostly overbooked in the winter time...
  • In a nutshell:One of the many picture-perfect Bavarian towns in the Alps

Great place to learn to ski or wander high after the snows are gone. Or even to just sit out on a summer night with a big wiezen! Good pictures.
