Köln is a very popular city.
In my opinion not the prettiest but one of the most modern cities in Germany.
It is also a center for the German media.
Many German TV channels have their studios here, such as RTL, Vox and VIVA. So it is the 2nd largest media city in this country.
While Pro7, DSF, RTL2, Premiere, Kabel1, MTV and others make Munich the German TV capital.
Köln is also famous for its Karnival celebrations in late February and a big party and nightlife scene.
The city loves to rival with its uglier neighbor Düsseldorf. Its huge Gothic Dom is supposed to be the most famous church in Germany.
The popular and cute Cologne beers (Kölsch) are extremely small, only 1/5th of the Bavarian 1 liter mugs!
