    Getting TO/AROUND: Munich has one of Germany's largest airports.
    Built in 1992, the new Munich airport 'Franz Joseph Strauß' is also extremely modern and clean.

    Located about 30 minutes from the city center, can be reached by S-Bahn.

    Getting TO/AROUND: This is the beautiful Schloss Schleissheim (Schleissheim palace).
    You can reach it with the S-Bahn S1 to 'Oberschleissheim' (20 minutes from the train station) and it is well worth the trip.

    Getting TO/AROUND: Europe's most modern airport and the headquarters of Lufthansa!
    The new Terminal was opened in June 2003. It is a real shopping mall now as well, with over 100 shops.
    This is now the most modern airport in Europe and almost as big as the one Frankfurt.

    Getting TO/AROUND: Munich has a great tram network, they run all over the city and they are the best way to see many wonderful sights of Munich.
    Take the tram 19 which runs through Maximilianstrasse to see Stachus, the opera house, the Bavaria parliament (Maximilianeum) and much more!

    Getting TO/AROUND: Munich is well known to have one of the best public transportation systems in Europe. It is really huge and will take you everwhere!
    It is not too expensive, if you know to get the right tickets.

    The new Munich airport is amazing. The most modern in Europe.

     Agreed! A wonderful zoo. Interesting animals I've never seen, a beautiful atmosphere, camel rides, demonstrations, goats to pet and feed. Fun! Also - it's a very beautiful bike ride from town down through the Englischergarten.    		blint Thu Jan 24, 2008 00:25 UTC
