Off The Beaten Path: Franken (Franconia)
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is the region in the north of Bayern.
By far not as many visitors as Bayern's south.
There is one destination which is not overlooked and that is for sure the world-famous medieval well-preserved Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
Franken's capital Nürnberg is only visited during their famous Christmas Market.
Other great places in Bavaria's north include Würzburg, Bamberg and Erlangen.
