Great sightseeing opportunites Off to Athens to see a bit of culture. Should have taken more jumpers for the evenings match against Panathinaikos in March 2001.
Second trip was in October 2002 for the game against Olympiakos.
Much warmer but the traffic hasn't got any better. |

|  | Olympiakos My second visit to Athens was for the UEFA Champions League Group Match game.
Manchester United played Olympiakos in the Rizoupoli Stadium on 23rd October 2002. We won 3-2.
This is their smaller home ground, instead of the usual Olympic stadium. This was due to the refurbishment in readiness for the olympic games in 2004. |
Panathinaikos My first visit to Athens was for the UEFA Champions League Group Match game.
Manchester United played Panathinaikos in the Olympic Stadium on 7th March 2001. We drew 1-1.
