Glasgow is a short trip for me as I live on the other side of the border in England. Therefore it can be a short and cheap flight from Stanstead to Glasgow airport.
On my last trip here I took a late afternoon flight and was in the bars for the early evening.
We normally drank around George Square and Sauchiehall Street. |
Celtic FC My second and latest visit to Glasgow was for the UEFA Champions League Group Match game.
Manchester United played Celtic in Celtic Park on 21st November 2006. United lost 1-0, scored from a free kick late on in the match. United also missed a last minute penalty.
I had a struggle to get into the game as the police, in their wisdom, decided to close the gates as I was just about to enter the stadium. It took me until half time to convince someone that I had a valid ticket and was eventually let in. |
Glasgow Rangers My first visit to Glasgow was for the UEFA Champions League Group Match game.
Manchester United played Glasgow Rangers in the Ibrox Stadium on 22nd October 2003. We won 1-0 following a great goal from Phil Neville. Now theres a rarity! |

| Pros: | "Not too far to travel, which keeps the costs down" | | Cons: | "Policing at both stadiums was ludicrous" |
