Barca scaves on sale outside the stadium - Barcelona

Barca scaves on sale outside the stadium

A visit to the Nou Camp. Nou Camp Stadium Review

Go around the museum and the stadium. I'll do the tour again next time I'm there to relive the memories of 26.05.99, a famous night for United.

Museum Tour
The museum offers the chance to really get to know the stadium by taking a guided tour through the installations, which takes visitors into the opposition changing rooms, down the tunnel and onto the pitch area. You can see the new dugouts and look out across the magnificent stadium. The alter, the TV studio, the press rooms and the directors area virtually complete the tour, with the one final surprise of a chance to enjoy a panoramic view of all FC Barcelona facilities. Don't forget to bring your camera!

Opening hours
Monday to Saturday: 10:00 - 18:30
Sundays and Bank holidays: 10:00 - 14:00
Closed on 1st Jan, 6th Jan and 25th December

Directions: To get to Camp Nou, take the blue line or Line 5 (Directions: Cornellá) and get off at Collblanc. Once you get off Collblanc, it is approx. 20 minutes gentle walking to the front entrance.

Barcelona Bus Turistic - Barcelona

Barcelona Bus Turistic

Take an open top bus tour of the city Tours Review

Now normally I like to walk around a city to get a good feel for the place, but this time in Barcelona I only had one day of sightseeing available and as I was feeling a bit weary, the decision was made to take a bus tour around the city. This turned out to be ideal.

I went with the Barclona Bus Turistic. This has a simple system of three hop off and hop on routes around the city, which each interconnect at certain stops.

I bought just the one day ticket for 20 Euros, but you can have a 2 day ticket for 26 Euros.

I got on the bus at Placa de Catalunya, on the red route, and passed the Sagrada Familia, Gracia, Park Guell, Sarria and the Nou camp, before getting on the blue route and passing Estatacio de Sants, Placa de Espanya, the olympic satdium, the Teleferic de Montjuic, the column of Columbus and Port Vell. I ended up at the Port Olympic before heading back.

A good tip would be to make sure you slap on the sun screen, as the sun and the wind can really turn your nose red!

Las Arenas - Barcelona

Las Arenas

Las Arenas "Bullring" Las Arenas Review

We passed by Las Arenas and I thought I'd take a snap. It looks cool from the outside. Didn't venture in, the only blood sports I go for are at Anfield and Elland Road.

It's hasn't been used since 1990 as a bullring and I think plans are being drawn up to turn it into some sort of leisure park. They are going to keep the design of the exterior intact.

La Ramblas - Barcelona

La Ramblas

Walk down Las Ramblas Las Ramblas Review

A great street to walk down on a sunny morning in Barcelona is Las Ramblas. It's a great place to take in some of the sights and sounds of the city residents.

As you walk down to the Port Vell you come across the local newsagents in the middle of the street, amongst them you will sometimes find the local pet shop seller with his small cages of even smaller animals. Also down this street you'll find street performers, most often performing as statue art.

At the bottom of the street is the seedier side of life especially as night falls. The ladies of the night come out and the strip clubs open their doors.

It’s probably best to plan your day by taking the girlfriend or mother for a walk in the morning and go out with the stag party in the late evening.

General Directions
Three Metro staions to choose from

At the Southern most end of La Rambla, near to Christopher Columbus memorial: Drassanes Metro stop. (Green Line, L3)

Midway along the Barcelona Las Ramblas, just outside the Liceu Theatre: Liceu. (Green Line, L3)

At the northern most tip of the Barcelona Ramblas: Catalunya (Green Line, L3), (Red Line, L1). Catalunya is also the point at which you can catch the Aerobus ( Express bus service to the airport) and the Bus Turistic which will take you around 2 circuits of popular tourist attractions
