Barcelona has to be my favourite European city.
It has all you need to have a full and comnplete life. A fantastic and diverse cultural mix. From cathedrals to beaches, from football stadiums to nightclubs, from tapas to fish restaurants by the sea
Just enjoy, but remember that you won't be able to take it all in on one visit which gives you the great excuse to keep coming back for more.
My fifth and most recent visit was for the UEFA Champions League Semi Final 1st Leg Match.
Manchester United played FC Barcelona in the Nou Camp on 23 April 2008. United managed to keep a clean sheet for the first time with the match ending 0-0. Our boy Ronaldo had the misfortune to miss a third minute penalty!
My fourth visit was for a good friends stag weekend in 2002. Nice and relaxing without the stress of football.

| | Three minutes is a long time!! My third visit to Barcelona was for the European Champions League Final 1999
Manchester United played v Bayern Munich in the Nou Camp on the 26 May 1999.
It was an amazing match, with an incredible ending. United were losing 1-0 in the 90th minute of the match. The match official held up his board to indicate that 3 minutes of added time was to be played. United then went on to score two great goals to win the game 2-1 and complete an historic treble. Now you don’t see that happening everyday |

| | FC Barcelona 1998 My second visit was for the UEFA Champions League – Group Match.
Manchester United played FC Barcelona in the Nou Camp on 25 November 1998. A cracking 3-3 draw
FC Barcelona 1994
My first visit to Barcelona was for the UEFA Champions League – Group Match.
Manchester United played FC Barcelona in the Nou Camp on 02 Novemeber 1994.
114,273 fans saw United thumped 4-0, but we were restricted in not being able to play our best players, Schmiechel and Cantona both sitting in the stands. Barca had the restrictions of having two rather fast Brazilians upfront, Romario and Bebeto! |
