Milan is a very large Italian city. It can be a great place a for a short trip as long as you do you homework and plan what you want to do.

We had a good time in the Corso Como area near Garabaldi station. Plenty of bars, restaurants and clubs...as well as the all night pizza parlours.

Going up on the Dumo roof is a must as well as getting yourself around the classic shopping streets.

I even managed to get to see the Cenacolo Vinciano (The last Supper) this time, which is also a worthwile visit.

Went first time to Milan for the UEFA Champions League - Quarter Final, 2nd leg.

Manchester United played Internationale in the Giuseppe Meazza stadium (San Siro) on 17 March 1999.

We drew 1-1, and so qualified to the semi final stages 3-1 on aggregate after having already won the first leg back at Old Trafford by 2-0.

The San Siro is one of the great european stadiums but on this occassion unfortunately the Italian police had the idea of not allowing us in for the game. Took us twenty minutes to persuade them to let us in.

Second visit to Milan for the UEFA Champions League - Knockout round of 16, 2nd leg.

Manchester United played AC Milan in the Giuseppe Meazza stadium (San Siro) on 08 March 2005.

We lost 1-0, and so lost 2-0 on aggregate after having already lost the first leg back at Old Trafford by 1-0.

Also went back recently for as third visit for the UEFA Champions League - Semi Final 2nd leg.

We lost 3-0, and so lost 5-2 on aggregate after having beaten Milan in the first leg back at Old Trafford by 3-2.
