Manchester United were drawn to play LOSC Lille Metropole in the Champions League. Unfortunately Lille decided that they could not play the game at their small stadium and so decided to switch the game to nearby Lens. As Lens is short trip from Calais, we decided to arrange for a coach trip just for the day, heading back after the game. Unfortunately this left no time to see the delights of Lens, other than the slag tips that we saw from the motorway. |

Had a similar experience in 98/99 season when the Arsenal went their for the CL... Nasty walk through the woods the the new "world cup" car park with bricks raining on our heads!! |
