Football and fun in the sun Now we should, technically, have been in Israel for the game, but UEFA wouldn't let us play there.
Something to do with people dressed in heavy coats and remote control switches. So it was that we played Maccabi Haifa in Cyprus.
Most of us stayed in Aiya Napa for a couple of days. Enjoying the five star hotel, with its attractions of the pool and waiter bar service.
Hitting the clubs and bars in the evening was a laugh, even though I was mainly doing the standing at the bar dance! |

|  | Maccabi Haifa My visit to Cyprus was for the UEFA Champions League Group F Match .
Manchester United played Maccabi Haifa in the GSP Stadium, Nicosia on 29 October 20002.
United lost 3-0, which goes to show you that even on some of the best trips, you still have to endure the worst 90 minutes.
Far too many tourists turned up to make any kind of a real match atmosphere. |
