Lyon - Home of Olympique Lyonnais I've been to Lyon a few times now and it is a pretty reasonable French city. It has some decent bars and restaurants.
Top place on the tourist map would have to be the beautiful white cathedral on the hill, Basilique Notre Dame De Fourviere. Then it would be a stroll along the rivers and bridges.
Don't expect too much on the nightlife scene though as the places does the normal French thing of shutting down early..about 01:00.
Worth a visit though. |

| | Olympique Lyonnais 2 Went the third time to Lyon for the UEFA Champions League last 16 knockout game 1st leg game, Olympique Lyonnais v Manchester United.
Played in the Gerland Stadium on 20 February 2008. Another draw 1-1, with Tevez scoring the equaliser in the 87th minute. A good result as we managed to win the second leg and qualify for the quarter finals. |
Olympique Lyonnais Went the second time to Lyon for the UEFA Champions League Group D game, Olympique Lyonnais v Manchester United.
Played in the Gerland Stadium on 15 September 2004. Score was 2-2, which was a good result for us considering we were 2-0 down at half time. Two great second half goals from Ruud gave us a share of the points.
My first stay was just for night stay on the way to Turin in December 1997.
Arrived just before Christmas when the festival was on. Place was packed but we still managed to get an Indian in. | | | Olympique Lyonnnais, Stade Gerland |
