Chinese people love Karaoke. The famous place for Karaoke in Shanghai is called CashBox, opened by Taiwanese. I've never been there as I am not so fond of this kind of game. But if you get invited by the local people to this place, you should know you are considered a great guest - That's what they told me here.

It is a famous sightseeing which has the reputation of “the First Music Mansion in East Asian” , and “Parliament Theater”, has been popular since liberation. WIth the superior site and convenient transportation, It has become one of the key cultural entertainment items of the comprehensive exploitation strategy in the Jing'an Temple area.

Nightlife Spot: Bing Jiang Rd - 1

I strongly suggest taking a walk here in the evening, especially in the summer time. The night scene here is fantastic. And you can get a drink at Starbucks or Red Dot's while enjoying the beautiful view of this city.

Nightlife Spot: Bing Jiang Rd - 2

Also from Bing Jia Rd, you can get such a wonderful view of the bund, especially at night, when the lights are all on, it is gorgeous.

I would suggest you take the ferry instead of the metro to get there so you can experience more of this city's night scene.

Nightlife Spot: LUNA

Even though all the pictures about Xin Tian Di were all taken in day time, this place is certainly a great place for nightlife.

LUNA is a very good restaurant/bar here. Their chef - Erik Berger, is an American with extensive working experience in some of the reputable restaurants in San Francisco bay area such as Postrio, Pinot, Blanc and Ventana.

This restaurant is opened by people from HK. So of course it provides very good Cantonese dim-sum. It has mini-screens showing Canto-pop too.

This nightclub combines the east and west, old and new beautifully. It has the hippest music here. Also, it provides the open stage to underground bands. If you think you would love to show people your talent, maybe you can go there too. :-)

This is not only a bar, but it is also a gallery because it was established by a famous Chinese painter, to market household items.

This "Home" uniquely blends Eastern and Western art and culture. Escape from the pressures of the office and pay a leisurely visit to the shop, and then have a leisurely drink at the bar. And who knows whom you might meet in such an attractive relaxed setting?
