Ready 4 Journey

by simcard - last update: Jul 22, 2006

Getting ready for journey - from O'hare
Taken in Reedsburg area, Wisconsin. 2005

Things I always bring when I travel

Besides passport, money, etc.. Here are a few more things that would cause me in panic if I don't have them with me on my way:

1) Camera - I don't want to miss anything I can catch into my camera wherever I am. If I travel without a camera, I rather stay home.

2) Mp3 player - I don't have much luck with flights being on time. This saves me from causing trouble in the airport. :-)

3) Laptop - My best friend ever. I take so many pictures all the time that I need to download them into my laptop pretty often otherwise I would be always running out of memory. Besides, I can't live without internet.

No wonder my bag is always heavy..

Things I always do before I arrive in a new place

If I don't my homework well, I would feel guilty.. so here we go, I always try to do good homework and try not to waste my trip:

1) Take notes from VT - especially the "off the beaten path" and "warning".

2) Google as much as possible.

3) Always make reservation beforehands.

4) Try to get all maps that are needed.

5) Make sure I have all phone numbers needed in one paper.

Just a daily scene you can catch from Columbus, WI
Taken when flying over Alaska

Websites I use a lot when I travel

Hope these sites can be of help for you too:

1) Virtualtourist.com (do I really need to mention this?)

2) Google and Google map service

3) Hotwire.com (they have such wonderful price for hotels that can surprise you)

4) Priceline.com (If you know how to bargain)

5) United.com (they have easy program to earn miles)
