I don't use VT to criticize any place. I just don't say anything if I don't want to recommend it. But allow me to do it just this one time. And I explain why: I studied in California for a few months with lots of foreigners, and 99.9% of them would return from a weekend in Las Vegas with disappointment clearly stamped on their faces. My point being that this is not a place for everyone - and certainly not for me!

Las Vegas is a pretty little modern town nestled between the dry California desert and some snow-capped mountains. Nothing different from any mid-sized non-coastal Californian town. I know it's not in California, don't worry.

Anyway, there's this world-famous street there, Las Vegas Boulevard, AKA the Strip, that is responsible for all the city's fame. But as you'll come to find out, it's just ONE single street, full of casinos, kitsch hotels, roller-coasters, and 3-dollar buffets. Plus some things I can't mention on VT! Well, if I could go back in time, I'd tell myself to spend no more than a night there... and I don't ever plan to return...
